Review of Royal Manor by Ex-Tenant

This is a Mainstreet property. They are money hungry, and it shows, from the neglect of the buildings to the lack of professionalism and courtesy (humanity) in their managers. No knowledge of the Tenancy Act. Tenancy agreement actually contravenes the Act. Illegal efforts to collect pet deposits. Harassment of tenants on government disability and long-term tenants whose rent is lower than they'd like. Issuance of Breach Letters for non-issues, like for having a non-registered roommate, written 3 months after that roommate moved out. Then no follow-up to what was supposedly such a grave issue it could end tenancy. No effort whatsoever to communicate with tenants about anything, just post a breach on the door. Hard on elderly and mildly dumb people who believe that a manager would never lie. Constant water shut offs because the leaks are never properly fixed. Hot water heat - included in the rent - often doesn't work. Handyman thinks turning the hot water valve off in a unit that's leaking is solving the problem. Handyman comes to fix sink and asks you for rags and a screwdriver. Call about a problem one afternoon, he shows up at 4:55 the next day. Too late, had to bribe a friend to help. No snow removal. Sparse patches of salt thrown in odd places. Manager, when told the parking lot was very slippery: There's salt in the lobby, you're welcome to spread it. And the rent just keeps going up. So millionaire owner Bobby can expand his private island in the Bahamas. Nice.
