Review of Glacier Cab Co by Dorothy
I understand that Glacier Cabs is the only cab company in town, so the insanely long wait times are (annoying) but to be expected. As for unsafe driving? Not expectable. I often find myself afraid when I get in the cabs in Nelson. Though I have rode in many cabs, tonights right was less than acceptable. It started with (yet again) a late show up. That's fine, I can deal with that. When we finally did get in the cab, my door was not closed before they started to drive, and when I tried to bring it to their attention to stop and let me close the door, they didn't stop or offer any help. Scary. Already tense, we started to drive off. It's winter. There is snow pack on the road, and the cab was driving uncomfortably fast for the conditions. Fast corners, and a majority of the time was spent with them on the radio which made me VERY uncomfortable. When we finally did get to the last turn, they came in WAY too fast, and we proceeded to slide sideways. There was no consolation or apology. The driver continued without any remorse. I am VERY upset with this service. I really wish I hadn't paid for that ride because I did not feel acceptable to support such risky behaviour. I hope that Glacier Cabs can take some consideration into their service and make their drivers safe. I don't feel comfortable getting in another one of their cabs. I would rather pay more for a longer ride then end up upside down in a ditch.
