Review of St Joseph's Mother House by Carlos Mardones Gonzalez
My wife and I are part of the Catholic community here in North Bay Ontario for several years now. It has always been a pleasure to visit the Mother House either for a religious services or for the beautiful grounds that surrounds the building. Lately and understandable as its private property, I have had problems in two occasions this year regarding visiting the grounds of the building. Once I was asked by the security guard to report myself to reception and ask for permission ,if I wanted to visit around the lake side of the gardens' That was back in the spring. This fall, as I was told, I went to reception to ask for that permission and that me and my neighbor would like to seat at the picnic table by the lake. That wish was categorically refused as I was not visiting inside the building plus due to Covid restrictions (?) This has been in my mind since then . I understand that unwanted visitors have been around the area. This doesn't mean that we should be treated in the same way. Spiritually, I've always considered the Mother House as a welcoming place for prayer and meditation. The path that leads to the grounds from the east side from Kingsman beach is just beautiful. And sitting on the grounds with your permission would have been really meaningful in this troublesome times... Please consider other approach to visitors other than employees that are doing their job but don't understand the needs of the Christian community.... Thanks very much for your time. Take care Carlos
