Review of Homefront Ideas by Karla Krane
After numerous meetings and reviewing all aspects of my renovation I signed a contract with Ms. Palmer/Homefront Ideas that did not provide a detailed description of everything we had agreed upon regarding the goods or services to be supplied under the contract. I trusted her and for this I paid dearly. At the time of the signing I provided Ms. Palmer with 50% of the agreed upon cost. Ms. Palmer/Homefront Ideas based the second draw of 40% on the date the countertops are measured (template) which she insisted on having done even though the cabinet installation had just started on July 21. On July 23 Ms. Palmer demanded the additional 40% although far less than 50% of the work had been done and threatened to walk off the job if I didn’t give her the money. The under cabinet lighting (puck lights) always a part of the plan had been ignored. Homefront Ideas website states she is both a designer and a contractor however on my renovation the electrical that began on June 16 was never completed. The cabinets were installed with no view of the under cabinet lighting. Her cabinet-maker did absolutely nothing right. The job was botched from beginning to end. Ms. Palmer/Homefront Ideas provided nothing close to a high end renovation and failed on every level; carpentry, cabinetry, electrical, plumbing and painting.
