Review of St Andrews The Apostle Rc Ch by Frank Kaposvary CD

i recall when St. Andrews Church was being built back in the 1960's, as a little boy attending St. Andrews School I was amazed to watch the construction of this beautiful church. I alter served here for Fr. Botak, Fr. Lacey and lastly Fr. Vuskinic after which time I moved on to high school (Eastdale) I would attend services on weekends with my family of who only my sister Kathy now attends. After high school I joined the Canadian Army and whenever I was able to come home I would make sure I attended Sunday services here. I recall the church being so tightly packed wirth parishoners that it was standing room only Wow I thought, this is a Fantastic community of God fearing people and I was proud to belong to it. I haven't been back to Welland since my Mother passed away 9 years ago but my Sister Kathy tells me that masses there are barely that many people who attend anymore. I am truly saddened by this as it shows people have lost Faith in Our Lord whereby without Faith people lose Hope. I have experienced many things while serving our great country and was subjected to many unimaginable images that most people would have nightmares about, it was through my Faith in Our Lord that I am still here today writing this. I attend St. Peters Parish where I live in Calgary and our services are packed on the weekends. I have retired from the Army in 1996 and gone through some life changing issues and yet My Lord has helped me through them all. I am proud to say that I am a Knight of Columbus, a Sacristan and Extra-ordinary Minister of Holy Communion at my Parish. With the world going the way it is I believe that we should get back to the basics and realize what is truly important in our lives, not technology, or how many toys we have or how big a house we have or even how much money we have. The important thing is what do we have in our souls? Is it love for one another or contempt for one another? I don't know if this would do any good to bring people (lost sheep) back to church but it doesn't hurt to try. i don't know who reads this but imagine how beautiful the world could be if we all just showed a little more Godly love towards each other? May God Bless St. Andrews Parish and it's parishoners and who knows I may one day6 attend a service within your walls before I am called home to Our Lord.
